Mary Smith
I come from a long line of artists on my mother’s side of the family. I was always the artistic kid. Writing, painting and playing violin and piano.
Working and raising a family left no time for artistic pursuits. I started to paint again when our youngest child went to school twenty two years ago. While living in Richmond, I studied with two different Watercolorists. After moving to the Eastern Shore sixteen years ago, I continued my education with the wonderful watercolor painter and my friend, Diana M. Davis. I later took classes with the abstract painter Anne Holland.
Several years ago I exhibited my paintings in The Palace Theater Gallery. I also was on the board of the Easter Shore Art League many years ago.
In 2019, I switched mediums to acrylic paint. I really enjoy the bright saturated colors acrylics provide. I paint a wide variety of subjects including flowers and abstracts.
